Here at Advantage Physical Therapy & Sports Performance we strive for excellence in rehabilitation, and we are also committed to promoting the field of physical therapy. One way we do this is by giving students who are interested in our profession opportunities to learn.
We have clinical affiliations with Shenandoah University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Old Dominion University, and East Carolina University, where students currently in physical therapy programs complete clinical rotations at our facilities. They learn how to apply classroom knowledge to the clinic setting with intensive learning and individualized training.
We also regularly offer a number of opportunities for individuals to observe, or shadow physical therapists to help them gain a better understanding of what we do. This is appropriate for someone trying to decide whether physical therapy might be the right career path to pursue, or for students that need to obtain observation hours in order to apply to a physical therapy program.
There are many different aspects of physical therapy, but each one of them requires problem solving, the ability to communicate effectively, and the desire to help others. If you feel this describes you, then physical therapy may be a good career choice. If you have any questions or if you are interested in observation opportunities, please contact us here.
