2. What should I expect from my first visit?Answer: Upon arrival at our office, you will meet a Patient Administrator who will process your paper work. They will notify your physical or occupational therapist, who will work with you throughout your entire recovery process. Items you need for your first visit are: Patient Registration Form, doctor prescription for physical/occupational therapy and any supportive information (such as, operative reports, X-ray and/or MRI results) associated with your specific needs. The therapist will then ask you a series of questions about your past and present medical conditions before performing a comprehensive evaluation. You'll be assessed for range of motion, strength and functional testing. Based on your physician's diagnosis, our prognosis and your personal goals, your clinician will create your individual treatment plan … and get started right away. Your first visit will include some initial treatment and instruction on exercises to complete at home. Future appointments will be scheduled before you leave.
